This assumes you have already placed the $1100 bet at Mansion early and have the -4.5 or -5 Line on the Steelers.

Since the line has moved so much, this will require a 2 bet hedge or betting on the "high" line to guarantee a win. The High line is the preferred solution and is offered at Pinnacle. The 2 bet solution is offered at SportsInteraction.

The Hedge at Pinnacle Sports

1. Click on the below banner and set up a new account. if you don't have one already.

2. After your account is set up and logged in, click on NFL Alternate High under the Football link. You can do this either way, but for since it is the default at Pinnacle, we are doing this one using "Decimal odds" instead of "American Odds". You can select this by clicking on the American Odds or Decimal Odds textlink on the left hand side. If your odds don't look like the pictures below, then click on the other odds.

3. On the next screen, scroll down until you find the Steelers/Dolphins game

4. Now since the odds will vary day to day, you will have to figure out exactly how much to bet based on the odds that day. For example in the pic above, the +7.5 line is at 1.342 This means to win a total of 1000 on Miami (including your bet), you would need to bet $1000/1.342 which is $745.16. So go to the cashier and deposit $745.16. Then enter $745.16 in the box next to the Miami Dolphins with the Pk in the drop down box beside it.. Click confirm bets and you are all set.

Summary

• If the Steelers win by 8 or more, you you get $1000 from Mansion and paid $745.16 at Pinnacle for a profit of $254.84.
• If the Steelers win by between 6-7 (5-7 if you had -5 at Mansion), you win both bets for a profit of $1254.84
• If the Steelers don't win or win by <5, you get $1000 from Pinnacle which you paid $745.16 for or a profit of $254.84. Since Mansion will refund your $1100 back if the Steelers don't win or win by <5, that portion of the bet is a wash.

The Hedge at SportsInteraction

1. Click on the below banner and set up a new account. if you don't have one already.

2. After your account is set up and logged in, click on NFL under the American Football section.

3. On the next screen, scroll down until you find the Steelers/Dolphins game

4. This portion of the 2 part hedge will pay you $1,000 total if the Dolphins win.

5. Now since the odds will vary day to day, you will have to figure out exactly how much to bet based on the odds that day. SIA makes it easy to determine the correct amount since their bet payout calculates automatically. As of the writing of this, a $556 bet would pay out $1,000 which is the amount we want for an equal hedge. Click place bets and you are are ready for the second bet

6. Click on the "Other Betting Options" Drop down box from the above picture and choose "Winning Betting Margin". It should look like this:

At this point you have a choice.

Option A is to wager ~$142 on Pitt to win by 1-5 which would pay you $568 (the same amount you paid on the dolphins to win bet). This combination would result in:

Pitt Wins by >5: You win $1000 from Mansion, lose both bets at SIA($556+142) for a profit of $302

Pitt Wins by 1-5: Mansion Bet is a wash, you win $568 from the 2nd bet, and lose the first bet, for a net profit of $2

Miami Wins: Mansion Bet is a wash, you win $1000 at SIA which you paid $556 for plus the 2nd bet of $142 for a total profit of $302

Option B is to wager $250 on Pitt to win by 1-5 which would pay you $1000. This combination would result in:

Pitt Wins by >5: You win $1000 from Mansion, lose both bets at SIA($556+250) for a profit of $194

Pitt Wins by 1-5: Mansion Bet is a wash, you win $1000 from the 2nd bet, and lose the first bet($556), for a net profit of $444

Miami Wins: Mansion Bet is a wash, you win $1000 at SIA which you paid $556 for plus the 2nd bet of $250 for a total profit of $194

Option C is to wager $200 on Pitt to win by 1-5 which would pay you $800. This combination would result in:

Pitt Wins by >5: You win $1000 from Mansion, lose both bets at SIA($556+200) for a profit of $244

Pitt Wins by 1-5: Mansion Bet is a wash, you win $800 from the 2nd bet, and lose the first bet($556), for a net profit of $244

Miami Wins: Mansion Bet is a wash, you win $1000 at SIA which you paid $556 for plus the 2nd bet of $200 for a total profit of $244

Take your pick!

Note that if you happen to have Pitt at -4.5 at Mansion you can have a "Middle" where 2 of your bets could win if Pitt wins by exactly 5.

As you see there is a heavy price to pay to hedge after the line has moved, but if you want to guarantee a win, there are still several ways to do it.
