Mansion was offering a risk free bet to kick off the NFL season on the Pittsburgh Steelers vs the Miami Dolphins on September 7th. If you place a $1100 bet on the Steelers at Mansion and you win, then they pay you $1000. If the Steelers lose, you get your $1100 back! There is also a way to hedge your bets with a bet on the Dolphins at another sportsbook and lock in a profit whether the Steelers win or lose!

The Bet

1. Open a Mansion account if you haven't already. You can click on this link.

2. Once you have your account opened, deposit $1100.

3. Go to the Sportsbook page (not the Sports Exchange) by clicking on Sportsbook

4. Click on NFL under the Navigation bar on the left side and then click on the checkbox under the Pittsburgh Steelers with the Pk next to it.

5. Click the Add Bets button to the right of the check box and the following box comes up

6. Fill in 1100 in the bet box and 1000 should show up in the Win box. Make sure Pk is in the drop down box. Then click on Confirm Bets.

If you feel like gambling and don't want to hedge, then you are done! You effectively have a $1000 freeroll and if the Steelers win then you win $1,000. If the Steelers don't win then you will get your $1100 back in a few days. By hedging you bet, you can guarantee a profit of $494 instead of a possible profit of $1000 or 0 if they lose. We will walk you through the hedge bets at Pinnacle, but it should be similar at other sportsbooks (since you can't do the hedge at Mansion since they have rules against it). The Hedge

1. Click on the below banner and set up a new account. if you don't have one already.

2. After your account is set up and logged in, click on NFL under the Football link. You have to be logged in for the drop down odds boxes to be available. You can do this either way, but for since it is the default at Pinnacle, we are doing this one using "Decimal odds" instead of "American Odds". You can select this by clicking on the American Odds or Decimal Odds textlink on the left hand side. If your odds don't look like the pictures below, then click on the other odds.

3. On the next screen, scroll down until you find the Steelers/Dolphins game

4. To make this a true hedge we typically want to make sure we have an overlap in the spreads so we still proft if the score ends up 20-20. Since a draw is very very rare in a NFL game since they go into sudden death during overtime, we recommend no overlap with the line at Pk so take the hedge at the Pk line.

5. Now since the odds will vary day to day, you will have to figure out exactly how much to bet based on the odds that day. For example in the pic above, the Pk line is at 1.990 This means to win a total of 1000 on Miami (including your bet), you would need to bet $1000/1.990 which is $505.51. So go to the cashier and deposit $505.51. Then enter $505.51 in the box next to the Miami Dolphins with the Pk in the drop down box beside it.. Click confirm bets and you are all set.

Summary

• If the Steelers win, you you get $1000 from Mansion and paid $505.51 at Pinnacle for a profit of $494.49.
• If the Steelers don't win, you get $1000 from Pinnacle which you paid $505.51 for or a profit of $494.49. Since Mansion will refund your $1100 back if the Steelers don't win, that portion of the bet is a wash.
