Kaysar Evicted from Big Brother All Stars -- In an expected move, fan favorite Kaysar was sent packing by Danielle after Janelle won the power of veto to take herself off of the block. The puts into play the strategy of the "Legion of Doom" which includes Chilltown plus James and Danielle. Erika won the Head of Household competition and it is very up in the air who she will nominate for eviction at this time. Our friends at Bodog currently have the best odds on James at 1/2 after this latest development. |
BetOnSports Lays Off 800 Employees -- Shortly after our previous article regarding BetOnSports CEO's arrest, they stopped taking wagers both online and over the phone. Their problems seems to be worsening as several weeks of lost revenue and the overall case against them force them to lay off 800 employees in Costa Rica and Antigua. In a related press release, BOS said it is shutting down services for American gamblers and will be refocusing on the European and Asian markets. Since the Asian markets only accounted for 5% of their profits last year, their future doesn't look bright at this time. |
Kaysar as Head of Household Nominates Diane and Nakomis for Eviction --In a very strategic move, Kaysar forged an agreement with "Chill Town" to not nominate them and instead put up the alliance of Diane and Nakomis on the block. While this move was a big surprising given the strength of the Will and Boogie alliance, it did leave the opportunity open to put them up if one of the nominees wins the power of Veto. There also seemed to be a possible romance between Erika and Kaysar which would provide for an interesting twist. Our friends at Bodog kept Erika's odds steady to win. |
BetOnSports CEO Detained in Dallas on Racketeering Charges -- One of our partners', BetOnSports, shares dropped 15% on Monday after their CEO was arrested on various charges on a layover during a flight from the U.K. to Costa Rica. This is a huge move for the Justice Department and could be due to congressional pressure and the currently debated bill illegalizing online gaming. This also signals a change from the governments previous stance on the legality of internet wagering. Obviously, this is a subject we have much interest in and will continue to cover for our readers. |
Alison Is the First Casualty of Big Brother All-Stars -- In a not too surprising move, Alison was the first person evicted from the Big Brother All-Stars house. Given her history as 2nd place finisher in Big Brother 4, as well as her legendary backstabbing during that season, eliminating Alison early will help everyone sleep better at night. With the ever sneaky Danielle on the chopping block alongside Alison, it was really a no lose situation for the other house guests. It is still too early to tell which alliances are the real ones since it seems like everyone is making promises to everyone else, with none of them planning on keeping them. Our friends at Bodog have Nakomis and Erika at 3/1 as early favorites. Where is your money? |
Italy Wins 2006 World Cup -- In a 5-3 Victory in penalties, Italy bested France to secure the 2006 World Cup. The match was stalled at 1-1 the end of extra time. This was Italy's first victory in the World Cup since 1982. It wouldn't be a World Cup without a bit of controvery and the head butt of France's Zidane is sure to be discussed at length along with the other red cards given out in the cup. Speaking of Red Cards, it looks like the total for the World Cup was at 28, so hopefully you took the over at Sports Interaction we talked about weeks ago for a nice profit. |
Federer Wins 2006 Wimbledon -- Proving that he is king of the grass court, Federer bested Nadal on the heels of his defeat in the French open to the same opponent. This was amazingly Federer's 4th Wimbledon title, putting him on equal ground with Bjorn Borg and Pete Sampras' records. This also marks Federer's 48th consecutive win playing on grass. If you think Federer's dominance on grass will continue, you can get your bets in on Wimbledon 2007 with our friends at BetOnSports who have the lines at -180 on Federer. With the run he is on, I think it is a good bet. |
Germany Nabs 3rd in World Cup from Portugal -- In a 3-1 victory, Germany takes consolation that they were the third best team in the 2006 World Cup. Hopefully this strength will follow them into 2010. |
World Cup Final - France and Italy -- Who knew when the World Cup started that it would come down to France, the winner from 1998 and Italy, the winner from 1982 and runner up from 1994. Hopefully one of you picked this matchup early on because I know the odds would have been nice. We currenly like the Nine.com lines which have Italy at -130 and France at +100. Where is your money? |
French Open Deja Vu at Wimbledon -- The men's final at Wimbledon is shaping up to be another matchup between Federer and Nadal if the unexpected doesn't occur. Jonas Bjorkman and Marcos Baghdatis are the two speed bumps in the road to this rematch on grass instead of clay. SportsInteraction has the expected 1.01 line on Federer in his next match, but the 1.44 on Nadal could be a good bet. |
Desperate Lesbian Housewives? -- Rumors abound that in their next season one of the Desparate Housewives will have a first lesbian experience. Is it Nicollette Sheridan (+150), Eva Longoria (+500), or Terri Hatcher (+500)? I would say it depends on how their ratings do over the first couple of shows. Place your best guess at BetOnSports |
No Americans in Wimbledon Quarterfinals for First Time in 95 years -- With Shenay Perry's departure from Wimbledon today on the heels of Venus Williams, Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick last week, it leaves no Americans left in the running for this Grand Slam event. Since several of those were upset wins, the current odds are very interesting. Our friends at VIP have just launched a brand new web site and some nice promotions to go along with it such as 40% in sign up bonuses. We would use this bonus to bet on Sharapova in her next match at -450. |
Brazil Out! -- Man, someone made some money on this one. I hope it was one of our readers! Favorite Brazil was knocked out of the world cup by France in a stunning upset in the Quarterfinals 1-0. This means there won't be a repeat by the defending champs. Is France the new favorite now? BetOnSports thinks that Germany will take home the cup and is offering +165 odds on it. France is still competitive at +200. Where is your money? |
Nadal Beats Agassi in His Final Wimbledon Ever -- In a sentimental defeat by the 16 year younger Nadal, Andre Agassi played his final match at Centre Court at Wimbledon. He was beat in straight sets 7-6(5), 6-2, and 6-4. I know what you guys are saying "Who cares about the sentiment, what about the odds?!" Sports Interaction has the expected 1.03 odds on Federer's match on Sunday, but I bet we will get some interesting odds in the next round as Federer and Nadal head on another collision course. |
Knock-out Rounds Begin in 2006 World Cup -- Now is the time it gets really serious in the quest for the World Cup. Many teams, like the US team didn't have what it took to make it to the final 16. Some, like Brazil, lived up to their expectations and then some. Our partner, Sports Interaction has a nice line on Brazil at 1.22 vs Ghana on Tuesday which should be easy money if no upset occurs. |
Will the McPheever Make the Billboard Top 100?American Idol runner up Katharine McPhee has released a CD single of two of her songs from the show, My Destiny and Somewhere over the Rainbow. The latter was widely regarded as the viewer and judge favorite. How high will this single make it on the Billboard Hot 100 chart? Our friends at BetCris think it will go all the way to number 1 and are giving +165 odds. Where is your money? |
Miami Heat Wins NBA Championship! -- For the first time ever, the Miami Heat has won the NBA Championship. Wade & Co played a great game against the Dallas Mavericks. As a Miami Beach resident, I was especially happy to win my money line bet on the Heat! I probably should have taken an over under bet on the fines for Dallas owner Mark Cuban, who was recently fined $250,000 for comments he made during game 5. |
Carolina Hurricanes Win Stanley cup in Game 7 -- In an exciting final game, the Hurricanes beat the Edmonton Oilers on the heels of 2 losses leading up to this game. The final score ended up 3-1 and the MVP went to rookie goalie Cam Ward. |

Well the once every 4 years worldwide event has begun with some surprisingly close matches. David Beckham was able to get England's first and only goal in the first 3 minutes and that was all they needed for the victory. The home team also bested the Costa Ricans. It isn't too late to get our printable 2006 World Cup wall chart to keep track of the matches. More 2006 World Cup first rounds analysis |

From someone who owns the box set of the old Wonder Woman DVDs, I wonder who could do Diana Prince justice. Sports Interaction has lines out on several leading ladies, so head over and weigh in with your best bets!

Will Federer's Grand Slam Hopes Be Dashed by Nadal in 2006 French Open finals? -- We will find out in a few hours when the two hit the clay at Roland Garros. Nadal is on a string of 59 victories in a row on clay. If you are looking for a way to get an edge, start with the $20 free bet at Canbet on the finals. I would love to see a grand slam winner, but my money is on Nadal at -152. More 2006 French Open Finals |
Mavericks Take Game 1 of NBA Finals from Heat -- It looked like the Heat ran out of gas in the game 1 loss with a score of 90-80. The Heat promised a more physical game 2, realizing they need to step it up a notch if they want to turn the series around. More Game 2 NBA Finals news |
Jazil Wins Belmont Stakes -- Well, somebody made a bundle on this one. If you had an inside tip and picked Jazil to win, then it would have paid off 14 to 1. The favorite, Bluegrass Cat, came in second place. Sunriver held the lead for a bit, but ended up in third. Triple crown season is over, but you can still always bet on the ponies at VIPSports. |
Rooney Fit to play for England -- England fans were celebrating today after getting news of a favorable scan for key player Wayne Rooney. It had been feared that his broken foot would not heal fast enough for him to play in the opening matches of the World Cup.
